Talon is a steel inverted roller coaster at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in South Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania.
Unlike many other coasters built by Bolliger & Mabillard, Talon is extremely quiet. This was accomplished by filling the track with sand and filling the supports with gravel in order to appease neighbors of the park who were concerned about noise from the ride. B&M has also taken this approach to make the Dueling Dragons at Islands of Adventure quieter.
Ride experience
The ride starts out by ascending the 135 foot lift hill, leading into pre drop used to relieve stress on the chain. The train then descends the 120 foot first drop at a 50 degree angle and enters the vertical loop. This is followed by the zero g roll, then an Immelmann loop and an inclined spiral. Next is an S-turn, an airtime hill, and a highly banked turn. The train is then flung into a corkscrew, followed by another hill, and finally the brake run.
Features
- 98 ft. tall Loop
- Zero-G Roll
