Taman Johor Jaya

Taman Johor Jaya is a housing and industrial estate situated in the northern outskirts of Johor Bahru, the second largest city of Malaysia. With a population of 16,000 families, it is primarily residential, but it also has light industrial and commercial zones. There are several golf courses in the vicinity, including its own Daiman 18 Club. The main road, Jalan Johor Jaya, connects all phases except Rosmerah. Johor Jaya is accessible via bus service 18 and 225.

The seven sections were built in phases, starting in 1990:

  • Anggerek
  • Dedap
  • Keembong
  • Seroja
  • Teratai
  • Bakawali
  • Rosmerah

The central commercial area is in Jalan Dedap, and includes the locally popular Lavender cake shop and the Steamboat restaurant. There is also the popular Johor Jaya sports complex, bowling alley and bus terminal in the area. Johor Jaya is administered by the Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru Tengah (Central Johor Bahru Municipal Council) on the side north of the Pasir Gudang Highway and by MBJB or Johor Bahru City Council south of the highway (Rosmerah area).

A new food centre, Family Food Centre, was built in 2004 along Jalan Dedap 14. A new neighbouring megamall, Jusco Tebrau City, was built in 2005 along Tebrau Highway. Other neighbouring hypermarkets include Giant in Plentong and Carrefour along Tebrau Highway, just south of Jusco. The community mosque, Masjid At-Taqwa, is located along Jalan Dedap 1. Johor Jaya will have a new police station in Rosmerah soon.
