Tantrik

Wikipedia: Tantrik

A tantrik is a practitioner of the tantra systems of beliefs. It is also associated with black magic and practices of the occult. These men are known for performing rituals, which may involve sacrifice. Tantriks may be called upon to free a person who is "possessed". In this respect, they are similar to "exorcists" in the western culture.

Tantra, or more properly tantrika, is a diverse and rich spiritual tradition of the Indian subcontinent. Although in recent years, in the Western world, it has become almost exclusively associated with sex, in reality this is one aspect of what is a way of life. In India itself, tantra is now, nearly always, associated with spells and black deeds.[citation needed] Tantriks, however, due to recent occurrences are known in popular culture to open "shops" which promise people fulfillment of their wishes (though not all tantriks are so) for money and then are known to possess them and make them do acts for their pleasure. A recent example is the case of Kishore Chauhan who has been accused of raping his daughter for nine years in control of a "tantrik" named Hasmukh Rathod (who also has been accused of raping her) on promise from Rathod that this act would bring him financial wellness [1]
