Pertaining to the tarsus of an eyelid or of the foot.

  • t. adenitis — see chalazion.
  • t. gland — sebaceous follicles between the cartilage and conjunctiva of the eyelids. Called also meibomian gland.
  • t. hobbles — tape applied around the hindlimbs, just above the tarsus, is used in dogs to provide support in walking after pelvic fractures.
  • t. hydrarthrosis — see bog spavin.
  • t. joint — see tarsus.
  • t. pad — see tarsal torus.
  • t. sheath — the synovial sheath around the deep flexor tendon in the horse.
  • t. tunnel — the osseofibrous passage for the tibial nerve, and flexor tendons, formed by the flexor retinaculum and the tarsal bones.
