Tay Ninh (tā nĭn), city, S Vietnam, NW of Ho Chi Minh City. It is the center of the Cao Dai, a politically active religious group that was suppressed by South Vietnamese forces after an armed insurrection in 1955. Of interest is the Cao Dai cathedral, which has a blend of Christian, Islamic, and Buddhist architectural features. The city has a large Khmer population.

Tây Ninh (Vietnamese: Tay Ninh.ogg Tây Ninh , 西 in Chữ Nôm) is a town in southwestern Vietnam. It is the capital of Tay Ninh province, which encompasses the town and much of the surrounding farmland.

Tay Ninh is approximately 90 km to the northwest of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest city. As of 2003 the district had a population of 126,370.[1] The district covers an area of 137 km². [1]

The city is most famous for being the home of the Cao Dai religion, an indigenous Vietnamese faith that includes the teachings of the major world religions. The Cao Dai religion's Holy See, built between 1933 and 1955, is located around 5 km to the east of Tay Ninh's town centre.
