Review
Sony Special Products' Teen Love & Heartbreak compilation, a companion to the label's similarly themed and budget-priced Teen Dreams collection, features ten lovelorn cuts from the 1950s/early-'60s pop scene including "I Took Him from You" by the DeJohn Sisters, "Birds, Bees, Cupids, & Bows" by Shirley Ellis, and Joan Weber's "Goodbye Lollipops, Hello Lipstick (I'm Not a Baby Anymore)." It's a fairly obscure set that forgoes the usual "oldies radio" format of other various-artists packages from the genre, but it may be too short and too bereft of "hits" for the average listener. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music GuideTracks
