Temasek Polytechnic (Abbreviation: TP; Chinese: 淡马锡理工学院; Malay: Politeknik Temasek) is the third polytechnic to be set up in Singapore. The polytechnic was established on April 6, 1990. It has a 30-hectare campus, which is equivalent to 33 international-size football fields. Located in the east of Singapore, overlooking the scenic Bedok Reservoir, TP's campus places particular emphasis on the preservation of the natural environmental heritage.[1] Temasek Polytechnic has approximately 15,000 full-time students and more than 1,200 academic staff.
Temasek Polytechnic is known for its vibrant campus life, abundantly stocked library and keen participation in water-related activities due to its close vicinity to a reservoir. For its commitment to education, TP has received various awards and numerous accreditations, such as the Public Service Excellence Award, People Developer Award, Singapore Quality Class as well as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.

Logo
Reflecting the name "Temasek", which is the first undisputed recorded name of a settlement in Singapore, the Polytechnic’s logo reflects the spirit of Singapore. The word "Singapore” itself is derived from a Sanskrit term meaning the Lion City.
The logo depicts a stylised picture of a lion face. The symmetrical layout indicates the sound foundation for the goals. It consists of an open book representing knowledge, a central "T" as a torch for enlightenment, glory and hope. It also represents a sword for righteousness. The ascending staircases represent multiple entry points into the Polytechnic as well as indicate that education is a life-long, continual process.
Red is the corporate colour which gives the logo the likeness of an authoritative seal, giving it an aura of distinction - the hallmark of Temasek Polytechnic.
