Ter River

The Ter is a river in Catalonia (northeastern Spain). It begins in the mountains of the Pyrenees, at Ull de Ter (2480 m of altitude), passes through the city of Girona, and reaches the Mediterranean Sea near l'Estartit at La Gola. It is 208 km long and drains an area of 3,001 km², making it the largest watershed entirely within Catalonia. Before it reaches Girona, the river is joined by the river of La Maçana. Downstream of Girona, the Güell river and Onyar river waters also join the river.

Superb carp fishing is to be had by walking 4 km to the rivers mouth with daily catches well over 100 lb (45 kg).
