Modeling years

Patrick was discovered in San Francisco by a talent scout for the Eileen Ford Modeling Agency[citation needed], and at the age of 13 she was the first teenage full time model[citation needed]. She moved to New York City shortly thereafter and her career as a runway and catalog model began. At 18, she left the world of modeling and enrolled at Boise State University[2]. She later transferred to University of California, Santa Barbara, where for financial reasons she began modeling again.

Pornography career

Soft-core film

In the late-1990s, Patrick transitioned from modeling to appearing in nude and soft-core features[citation needed].

Hard-core film

In 2000, she made the move to hard-core porn in Andrew Blake's Aroused. She also appeared in bondage and foot fetish films around that time using the pseudonym Brooke Thomas.[citation needed]

Publications

She has appeared in Playboy and Penthouse, where she was the "Pet of the Month" for February 2000[3] and was selected as "Pet of the Year" runner-up.

In 2003, Patrick became the masthead publisher of Genesis.

Future plans

Today, she hosts the popular webcast The Tera Patrick Show and she is active in the adult film community, raising money for both the Free Speech Coalition and A.I.M Healthcare.

In an interview with the Adult Film Database in February 2007, Patrick stated she will only continue to work in front of the camera for two more years, but plans on releasing her starring adult titles over the next decade.[4] The March 2007 DVD release, 'inTERActive' set the record as the fastest selling Hustler release ever.[5]

In 2008, Patrick began hosting the Playboy TV erotic instructional show, School Of Sex[6].

Guest appearances

  • Patrick has been a frequent and favorite guest of Howard Stern on his TV and radio programs and the Adam Carolla radio show. She was on the cover of the July 2006 American edition of FHM,[7] revealing candid details in an interview inside. Patrick, who had been named one of FHM's 100 sexiest women, was the first porn star to appear on the cover.[8]
  • Tera also appeared, voicing herself, in episode 63 of the cartoon series Aqua Teen Hunger Force, which first aired November 19, 2006.[9]
  • Patrick was made into a playable character in the video game Backyard Wrestling 2.[10]
  • Patrick was also in the music video for "I Can't Move" by American singer and rapper Everlast.[11]
  • Patrick was involved in promotion for the 2008 video game Saints Row 2 and also voiced herself in its first episodic expansion pack Ultor Exposed.[12][13]
  • Patrick was featured in the 2008 book, Permanence: Tattoo Portraits by artist Kip Fulbeck[14]
  • Patrick is also featured in Pitbull's "I Know You Want Me" (Calle Ocho) video dressed as a pilot/stewardess.

Legal battles

In December 2002, she severed ties with Digital Playground, and brought suit against them, contending she was not paid for her appearance in several Digital Playground productions. Digital Playground's countersuit contended that it owns exclusive rights to the name "Tera Patrick," and that she is signed up to produce adult entertainment only for them until January 2008.

In April 2007, Patrick and her production company Teravision filed a lawsuit against Jenna Jameson and Playboy Enterprises (the new owners of Club Jenna) for failing to properly account for and pay royalties on money earned by Patrick's website clubtera.com.[15]

Personal life

While at Boise State, Patrick earned an AAS degree in nursing and a BS in Biology.[16]

On January 9, 2004, Patrick married Evan Seinfeld in a small ceremony, after a 3-year relationship, in Las Vegas where they were attending the 2004 AVN Awards show.[17] In November 2006, Patrick starred in a Vivid/Teravision production titled "Tera Patrick's Fashion Underground" where she performed with Jean Val Jean and Tommy Gunn. In the same film her husband, under the name Spyder Jonez, performed with Lanny Barbie. In an interview, Tera Patrick says she's OK with him doing scenes with other girls.[18] The two have made five movies for Vivid and ten for Teravision (with Seinfeld appearing under the name "Spyder Jonez"; he has also directed some features).

In 2005, Patrick and Seinfeld launched a talent agency representing models and actors/actresses. According to a quote on the agency's website, Patrick's goal, "is to help girls (and guys) in the business to be treated with respect, and realize their true potential..." She also owns a production company called "Teravision", which along with Vivid Video released its first feature, "Desperate", starring Patrick and Seinfeld. In April 2006 it was announced that she would host the Exxxotica Miami convention.[19]
