Biography

Mansfield, TX, emo rockers Terminal were known as Letter Twelve before they signed with Seattle's Tooth & Nail in 2004. But the name change didn't dilute the quintet's earnest blend of emo-inflected, triumphant modern rock, a sound that also had a Christian influence. Terminal's lineup included vocalist Travis Bryant, guitarists James Erwin and Matt Lucas, drummer Ryan Conley, and bassist Lucas Starr. They made their Tooth & Nail debut with How the Lonely Keep in June 2005, and embarked on an extensive tour with fellow T&N act Anberlin. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide

History

Formed in 1998 under the name Letter Twelve, the group signed to Tooth & Nail Records in 2004 and changed its name. The band's first, and only, release under this name was entitled How the Lonely Keep, and in 2005 they went on tour with labelmates Anberlin.[1] The record hit number 39 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart in 2005.[2]

Shortly after the release of the album, all of the band's members except for lead singer Travis Bryant departed the group[3] during their tour with The Spill Canvas and Rufio; Bryant toured with Terminal as a solo act for the remainder of the tour. Bryant found replacements for the members later in 2005 and continued to tour behind the album, touring with Saosin, He Is Legend, The Juliana Theory, Cartel, The Working Title, Codeseven, The Receiving End of Sirens, and Yesterday's Rising.[4] Terminal split in January 2006; Bryant went on to join the group Goodbye Tomorrow (now called Alive in Wild Paint).

Ryan Conley, Lucas Starr and James Erwin are now all members of the band Oh, Sleeper, a metalcore band now on Solidstate Records. The band reunited on December 28, 2007 for a one-off reunion show in Plano, TX. Bryant periodically covers Terminal songs in his current band, Alive in Wild Paint.

UPDATE: Ryan Conley is no longer with Oh Sleeper. He left the band and joined the United States Navy. After his last show with Oh, Sleeper, he gave a speech to the fans and proposed to his now wife Lyn.

Matt Lucas now owns and operates Trust Printshop [1], a screen-printing company that prints merchandise for the band market.

Rian Flynn is now a commercial photographer based out of Los Angeles. [2]
