Test Drive: Eve of destruction was a video game developed by Monster Games and published by Atari, the game was also known as Driven to Destruction in Europe.
The game was based on the American sport of demolition derbys as the game is set in America and features old American vehicles, therefore is on a similar platform to the Demolition Racer and Destruction Derby games.
The game features 25 events including the school bus race, battle, gauntlet, trailer race and figure 8 races. Some of the events are fictional.
The game features more than 30 vehicles such as school buses, ambulances and muscle cars. The game features many real vehicles but to avoid licence fees the cars don't bear their real names. The car known as the Top on the game is actually a Chevrolet Chevette.The Moth is an AMC Gremlin,the Arrow is a Ford Thunderbird, the Algar is an AMC Pacer,the Blitz is a Chevrolet Vega Wagon, and the Outlaw is actually a Ford Ranchero.
