What are Testolactone tablets?
TESTOLACTONE (TESLAC®) blocks the production of the hormone estrogen. Some types of breast cancer depend on estrogen to grow, and testolactone can stop tumor growth by blocking estrogen production. Testolactone is for the treatment of breast cancer only in postmenopausal women or women who have had their ovaries removed. In addition, testolactone may be used in men with infertility or children with certain types of early onset puberty. Generic testolactone tablets are not yet available.What should I tell my health care provider before I take this medicine?
They need to know if you have any of these conditions: an unusual reaction to testolactone, other medicines, foods, dyes, or preservatives
pregnant or trying to get pregnant
breast-feeding
How should this medicine be used?
Contact your pediatrician or health care professional regarding the use of this medicine in children. Special care may be needed.
What if I miss a dose?
What drug(s) may interact with Testolactone?
any medicine containing estrogen (This may include some herbal products and some birth control pills)
DHEA
warfarin
Tell your prescriber or health care professional about all other medicines you are taking, including non-prescription medicines, nutritional supplements, or herbal products. Also tell your prescriber or health care professional if you are a frequent user of drinks with caffeine or alcohol, if you smoke, or if you use illegal drugs. These may affect the way your medicine works. Check with your health care professional before stopping or starting any of your medicines.
What should I watch for while taking Testolactone?
Do not treat yourself for diarrhea, nausea, vomiting or other side effects. Ask your prescriber or health care professional for advice.
What side effects may I notice from receiving Testolactone?
Side effects that you should report to your prescriber or health care professional as soon as possible: any new or unusual symptoms
fever
high blood pressure
leg or arm pain or swelling
skin rash
swelling of the tongue
vomiting that does not go away
unusual weakness or tiredness
Side effects that usually do not require medical attention (report to your prescriber or health care professional if they continue or are bothersome):
abdominal pain or cramping
aches in arms and legs
decreased appetite
diarrhea
hair loss
nausea or vomiting
numbness, prickling or tingling of hands or feet
Where can I keep my medicine?
Keep out of the reach of children in a container that small children cannot open.Store at room temperature ( 25 degrees C and 77 degrees F). Throw away any unused medicine after the expiration date.
