Cerrone was a dominant Euro-disco act in the mid-'70s. His music accented both disco's strengths (multi-layered arrangements; a driving, at times almost overbearing beat; and sophisticated strings) and weaknesses (a stifling lyrical sameness and arrangement/production formula that could quickly grow wearisome).
