While Rhino promoted this as a career overview of Andrews' vocal work, the unfortunate truth is that licensing restrictions did not permit them to include anything after 1967 and Thoroughly Modern Millie, thus leaving the latter part of her career unrepresented. The good news is that the album includes 19 selections, with several coming from Andrews' solo albums (which met with limited success at the time of their original release.) Many of the familiar numbers are here, too, of course, including "Super-Cali-Fragil-Istic-Expi-Ali-Docious" (though "A Spoonful of Sugar" is missing) and "My Favourite Things." For the average Julie Andrews fan, there's nothing here to disagree with, and a lot to be delighted about, in lieu of a series of catalog releases on compact disc. Another typically excellent mastering job from Rhino, of course (almost a boring report), along with interesting liner notes and scads of pictures. ~ Steven McDonald, All Music Guide
