The Best of the Pink Floyd is a compilation album of early Pink Floyd music, concentrating on singles from 1967 to 1969. It was released in The Netherlands in 1970, and later in Hungary, and contains their five early British singles and tracks from two further singles released in other countries. A later European compilation titled Masters of Rock says "Originally issued as The Best of Pink Floyd" [sic] on the back cover, but both albums contain tracks that are not on the other.
This record was notable as the only LP source of "Point Me at the Sky", and the original mono mixes of "Apples and Oranges" and "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" prior to the era of CD re-issues and compilations. It does not contain any of the single stereo remixes found on Relics and Masters of Rock, as this album was only issued in mono.
