The Bird and the Bee Sides is a double EP by the American band Relient K. In the United States it was released on July 1, 2008.[1]

The double EP is contained on a single disc and contains the The Nashville Tennis EP and The Bird and the Bee Sides. The Nashville Tennis EP (a pun on Nashville, Tennessee) is the band's seventh EP. It includes 13 tracks of new material that allowed the band to explore their sound a bit by allowing other band members, besides Thiessen and Hoopes, to compose/record a few tracks, as well as adding some influences from Country music and Ska. The Bird and the Bee Sides contained tracks which had previously been released on hard-to-come-by records. [2][3]

The EPs debuted at #25 on the Billboard Top 200, with approximately 20,000 albums sold.[4] It peaked at #6 on iTunes Top Albums chart[citation needed], and #2 on iTunes Top Alternative Albums chart[citation needed]. The song "At Least We Made It This Far" reached #16 on iTunes Top Alternative Songs.[citation needed]

Bonus material

Those who pre-ordered The Bird and the Bee Sides received two "instant song downloads" ("Up and Up" and "The Lining Is Silver"), a Relient K and Gotee Records sticker pack[5], and a collector's-edition postcard[5].

Online scavenger hunt

Relient K held a scavenger hunt for tracks that were meant to be made available on The Bird and the Bee Sides, but due to various issues the band decided to release them in an Online Scavenger Hunt.[6]. The clues lead to "Hope For Every Fallen Man", "Where Do I Go (Acoustic)", and "Between You and Me". Two more songs are intended to be released some time for the scavenger hunt, and were announced to be the demo of "I'm Lion-O" from the band's 1998 demo album All Work & No Play and the unreleased demo of "Sadie Hawkins Dance."
