Biography

Mollie Wells (vocals/keyboards), Carlos Nunez (keyboards), Jason Laveris (drums), and Conrad Vollmer (guitar) formed the Cinema Eye in their native Columbus, OH, in early 2002. The four friends were bored to tears with their day jobs and obsessed with music, so getting a band together was just. Within a year, Sound Virus Records came calling to the Cinema Eye's brash, punk-inspired rock and offered to release their first record. Vollmer's commitment was short-lived, for he exited after six months. Audion's Paul Rentler joined the band and the Cinema Eye resumed recording. Their debut EP, A Complete Arsenal, and a split 10" with Audion were released in spring 2003. Laveris moved to California shortly thereafter; however, the Cinema Eye remained focused. Rentler's bandmate, David Fowler, joined the group and the Cinema Eye were once again a foursome. An appearance at SXSW in 2004 as well as tour dates with Pretty Girls Make Graves, Red Light Sting, Radio Berlin, and An Albatross coincided the band's proper full-length album. Some Nerve was released on Sound Virus in fall 2004.~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide
