The Communities Group (TCG) provides consulting services, including training and technical assistance, for local housing authorities and other community organizations. The group works with clients throughout the US; in addition, it has taken on projects elsewhere in the Americas and in Europe and Asia. Overview

The Community Group, also known as the Independent Community Group (ICG), and registered with the Electoral Commission as The Community (London Borough of Hounslow), is a small political party based in Isleworth, in the London Borough of Hounslow.

The party was originally founded on 1 January 1994 as the Isleworth Community Group to build a "vibrant community" and to advocate public participation within the decision making processes.

The 1998 and 2006 local elections

The 1998 local elections

They got their first councillor after the 1998 local elections [1].

The 2006 local elections

Following the 2006 local elections on 4 May 2006, the group now has six councillors, representing the three seat Isleworth (Paul Fisher, Phil Andrews and Dr. Genevieve Hibbs) and Syon wards (Shirley Fisher, Caroline Andrews and Jon Hardy). They form part of the borough's administration in run Hounslow coalition with the Conservative group of councillors. [2]

In the 2005 general election, the group's leader, Phil Andrews, stood for the Brentford and Isleworth parliamentary seat, winning 2.4% of the vote.

Mogden Sewage Works' storm tanks

The I.C.G. had 5 councilors voted in favour of the Hounslow's Sustainable Development Committee to approve the application by Thames Water to expand its operation in the borough but opening 6 new storm tanks, at Mogden Sewage Works in Isleworth, to take the overspill from the River Thames. They also voted in favour of reducing it's odour and controlling the level of local disruption caused by the construction of the tanks [3] . The other topic debated were the Thames Tideway tunnel to Isleworth from Hammersmith and selling off of Perry Oaks sewage treatment works[4].
