Plot

The Chris Landreth-directed and animated, six-minute Canadian short The End satirizes animation festivals. Suggesting influence by Borowczyk's 1967 animated classic Théatre de M. et Mme. Kabal, The End features a running comic dialogue between the illustrator and his cartoon creations, who quarrel over the most effective wrap-up for the film itself. At one point, the subjects assert irritatedly to Landreth, "[We] do not exist for your animation." As one of Landreth's most popular and accessible works,The End was produced and funded by Alias/Wavefront, an animation house in Toronto, Ontario. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide
