THEART are an Australian rock band formally known as The Follow. Previously The Art recorded a self-titled E.P produced by Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeah’s, Nick Cave, Supergrass, INXS) and released on his own US label, ‘Stick It To The Man’, followed by the successful independent release of single ‘Goodbye’ soon after. Their forthcoming album was mostly recorded at ‘The Bubble’, Frenchie’s own studio and will include tracks from both Nick Launay and Manny Nieto (The Breeders, Health, Rumspringa) that they recorded in LA during time off from touring.
The Art are a hard working and inspired group of people who came from an exciting past. They grew from Sydney based band, ‘The Follow’ who started out recording their first album, ‘Empty Orchestra’ with Lee Ranaldo of Sonic Youth. The Follow toured Australia continuously as well as supporting Sonic Youth, NIN, Team Sleep, Eskimo Joe, Children Collide. In 2006 They released an E.P titled ‘Hope You’re Happy’, produced by Nick Launay, through Warner (AUS) and in 2007 spent a month touring the UK where they released a 7” single, ‘Smashed Heart’ on UK independent label WCS. In 2008 The Follow decided to relocate to America where they met their current drummer and reformed as The Art.
