Review

The Force is intended to be an expression of tenor saxophonist Robert Stewart's Islamic faith, utilizing Middle Eastern tonalities and infusing his solos with a Coltrane-ish spirituality. Stewart is accompanied ably by pianist Ed Kelly, bassist Reginald Veal, and drummer Jeff "Tain" Watts. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide

The Force was an album released by the funk band Kool and the Gang. The album was released in 1977, and failed to generate any major impact. This album is now recognized as one of two albums between the group's two periods of success. It was after the first string of hits in the mid and early 1970s, and before the group hit it big in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
