Plot

Beaten by the chief of a band of renegade Indians (Charles Inslee) and left for dead, an Indian princess (Florence Lawrence) is cared for by the daughter (Gene Gauntier) of a local rancher (Harry Salter) in this primitive one-reel western melodrama preserved in the paper print collection of the Library of Congress. The Indian girl and her savior start out for the white settlement but are captured by the renegade Indians. The squaw is killed helping her rescuer get away. D.W. Griffith and his popular, but still anonymous, players filmed this melodrama at Fort Lee, New Jersey, August 2-4, 1908.
