This Kalem comedy marked the screen debut of English actress Ivy Close. Theatrical magnate Gotrox (William McKay) wants to engage a famed tenor, Signor Bologna (Henry Murdock), but doesn't want to pay the hefty five-thousand-dollar fee. His daughter Nell (Close) believes she can get him the tenor for less and Gotrox tells her that if she can get him to sign a contract for two thousand dollars, he will give her a thousand. But getting to Signor Bologna is not the easiest task, due to his jealous wife (Mary Taylor-Ross) and to his manager, the aptly named Jack Hustler (Arthur Albertson). All Nell's efforts are in vain until Hustler kidnaps Bologna and drives off with him. She follows their car, which flies off an embankment. She finds the two men pinned under the wreck and offers to help them -- as soon as Bologna signs the contract. But all isn't lost for Hustler; he and Nell have fallen in love. ~ Janiss Garza, All Movie Guide
