Dictionary of Dance: The Grand Union

US improvisatory dance collective founded in 1970 by a group of like-minded post-modern choreographers in New York City. Some of its most important members included Trisha Brown, David Gordon, Yvonne Rainier, and Steve Paxton. It broke up in 1976.
