Plot

Chuck Norris stars in this derivative action film (directed by his brother, Aaron Norris) which bears more than a passing similarity to Steven Seagal's Marked for Death. Norris plays Cliff Garret, a Seattle cop who is mortally wounded in a drug bust. Garret's condition is grave but he manages to pull through. However, the Seattle police have plans for him and put out the word that Garret has died. When Garret regains his strength, he is given a new identity as hit man Danny Grogan and is assigned to go undercover and infiltrate the crime family of Marco Luganni (Al Waxman). "Grogan" must bring both Luganni and rival gang-lord Andre Lacombe (Marcel Sabourin) into police custody. But his past comes back to haunt him in the person of Ronny Delany (Michael Parks), a goon from Grogan's Garret days, who threatens to blow his cover. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

The Hitman is a 1991 action/crime film starring Chuck Norris. It was directed by Aaron Norris and written by Don Carmody, Robert Geoffrion and Galen Thompson.

Plot

Seattle cop Cliff Garret (Chuck Norris) is severely wounded in a drug bust gone bad—shot by his corrupt partner Ronny “Del” Delany (Michael Parks).

Cliff pulls through, but the department declares him dead and gives him a new identity, hit man Danny Grogan, so they can send him deep undercover into the organization of mob boss Marco Luganni (Al Waxman).

The plan: Grogan is to bring together Luganni and rival French Canadian crime boss André LaCombe (Marcel Sabourin) so they can both be taken down together. Complicating matters is a gang of Iranian drug dealers who are looking to muscle into both gangsters’ territories.

Grogan plays all parties against one another while befriending a fatherless boy named Tim Murphy (Salim Grant), who lives in the apartment down the hall.

Grogan’s past returns to haunt him in the person of Ronny Delany, who recognizes him as Garret, and threatens Tim in a bid to force Grogan to cooperate.

But Grogan turns the tables on them all—Grogan has Luganni’s and LaCombe’s gangs kill each other off, and then Grogan goes after Delany.
