The Muppets searched for a rainbow connection, and found it in the magic kingdom. The Jim Henson Company, creator of beloved characters Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Fozzie Bear, sold those assets, along with all their rights and entertainment libraries, to The Walt Disney Company in 2004. The Muppets helped The Jim Henson Company gain worldwide acclaim in family entertainment for more than four decades. The company's units include feature film and TV production and Jim Henson's Creature Shop (a creature-building workshop for its own company as well as others). Jim Henson died in 1990; his son Brian and daughter Lisa run the company, which was founded in 1958.
