Biography

When jazz vocalist Dwight Trible asked Carlos Niño (of Ammoncontact fame) to produce his 2003 album Love Is the Answer, Niño soon realized that multi-instrumentalist Dexter Story could add a lot to the sound and arrangement of the record. The two worked so well together that they decided to call themselves the Life Force Trio (the third member was "floating"), and were soon working on their own songs. With contributions from Andres Renteria, Fabian Ammon, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, and Gaby Hernandez, and after just a few weeks of recording (in Niño's living room, no less), a rough outline for an album was completed. However, it wasn't until 2006 that Plug Research released the Life Force Trio's debut, Living Room, which also featured appearances from Trible, Derf Reklaw, and Jesse Sharps. ~ Marisa Brown, All Music Guide
