Steven Soderbergh's The Limey brilliantly blends pulp and avant-garde techniques as it tells the story of a hardened, aging British criminal avenging the death of his daughter. The soundtrack has a handful of oldies -- the Who's "The Seeker," the Hollies' "King Midas in Reverse," the Byrds' "It Happens Each Day," Boston's "Smokin'" -- plus an invigorating contemporary sequence by Danny Saber, and portions of Cliff Martinez's exciting score. Instead of being incoherent, it winds up being a wild ride like the movie itself, and nearly as intoxicating. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
