Though little known outside Great Britain, the six-episode series The Master is still fondly remembered by middle-aged viewers who'd been children when it originally aired. Adrienne Posta and Paul Guess starred as Judy and Nicky, a pair of average British kids who found themselves marooned on the island of Rockall. The kids also found themselves at the mercy of the Master (Olaf Pooley), a 150-year-old blackguard who planned to rule the world with the aid of his twin laser beams. The villain was ultimately foiled by the combined efforts of the two youngsters and a very resourceful dog. Based on a novel by T.H. White, The Master was telecast by the Southern Television service from January 11 to February 15, 1966. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
