The Mayor of Castro Street is a book written by Randy Shilts telling the story of Harvey Milk. It was published by Stonewall Inn Editions.
Adaptations
In 2009, Audible.com produced an audio version of The Mayor of Castro Street, narrated by Marc Vietor, as part of its Modern Vanguard line of audiobooks.
A film adaptation is in the works, unrelated to the Academy Award-winning film Milk. This adaption is more faithful to the book[citation needed] while the 2008 film was based on interviews with surviving associates of Harvey Milk.
