Biography
In an attempt to resurrect the creative arts in Cambodia, which had been decimated during the regime of Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge, the Cambodian government helped to produce a tour of the National Dance Company Of Cambodia in 1992. The group garnered critical acclaim for its highly choreographed dancing to the lively accompaniment of a pinpeat orchestra, which consisted of roneat (wooden and metal xylophones), khong wong (gongs), double reeds, and various drums and percussion. An album, Homrong, was recorded during the ensemble's performances in London. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi
