This educational video covers the Pilgrims' journey to America, where they hoped to establish greater personal freedoms and start over in their lives. Segments examine the special challenges the Pilgrims faced in befriending the nearby Native Americans, building homes and communities in often inclement weather, and coping with British attempts to maintain control over them. Provisions of the Mayflower Compact are also covered. This program is intended for students in grades five through eight. ~ Elizabeth Smith, All Movie Guide
