The Pink Panther

The Pink Panther is a 1993 animated television series. A co-production of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Animation, Mirisch-Geoffrey DePatie-Freleng and United Artists.

Plot

This version stars the legendary hip feline in new adventures. Alongside the panther are his longtime friends and co-stars from other DFE shorts, The Inspector, The Ant and the Aardvark, and The Dogfather (The Dogfather and his cronies Pugg and Louie were redesigned for this series), as well as "The Little Man" who was a co-star in the original theatrical shorts alongside the cool cat. Also, some new characters were created for the show, including a mask-wearing tribal witch doctor named Voodoo Man, a muscular guy named Manly Man, little red-headed girl Thelma, a sweet old lady Mrs. Chubalingo, and her pet parrot Jules.

What made this show different from other Pink Panther shows was the fact that the usually-silent main character was now talking (with the voice of Matt Frewer).

The show was nominated for a daytime Emmy award in 1994 for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition.^[1]

DVD release

• A DVD box set called "Der rosarote Panther - Die neue Show" was 1st been released in Germany (Region 2) on February 21, 2006 through MGM. This set contains the first 40 Episodes in English, French and German on 4 DVDs.

The DVD then came out in the UK from MGM and Fox, on February 2, 2009. it was named "The New Pink Panther Show" as of it's airing on Boomerang in 2005-2007.

The remaining 20 episodes are yet to be released. To this day, there is no word if the series will have a US DVD release from MGM and Fox.
