Plot

Twenty-four years before Oliver Stone's incendiary JFK, documentarian Emile de Antonio put together this fireball-in-the-night film essay, based on Mark Lane's bestseller that questions the lone assassin theory in the John F. Kennedy assassination. Mark Lane interviews numerous witnesses that throw into question the Warren Commission's assertions that Lee Harvey Oswald was Kennedy's sole killer. Lane points out that Oswald's killer, Jack Ruby, was well-known to the Dallas police; that the events surrounding the shooting of officer J. D. Tippit have been desultorily investigated; and that much of the evidence in the case has been callously handled and tainted. His conclusion is that Kennedy's murder was a premeditated conspiracy of which the ensuing cover-up was merely a part. ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide
