Plot

Does this sound familiar? A popular slapstick comedian appears as "Cinderfella" in an updated spoof, with Ed Wynn as his "Fairy Godfather." Yes, that was the plot of the 1960 Jerry Lewis theatrical feature Cinderfella. But five years earlier, on October 25, 1955, Red Skelton used the same plot line, and the selfsame Ed Wynn, in a Cinderella takeoff of his own! An unabashed admirer of Wynn, Red used him often on his TV show, right up until 1966, the year of Ed's death.
