The Sun Comes Up is a 1949 MGM Lassie picture. Set in the rural south of the United States, a bereaved war widow (Jeanette MacDonald) learns to put aside her bitterness and grief as she grows to love a young orphan boy (Claude Jarman Jr.) and his dog. Punctuated with song-filled interludes, the picture also starred Lloyd Nolan.
