Review
Following their work in Madagascar, working with local musicians and bands, Henry Kaiser and David Lindley set out for Norway, where they delved furiously into all kinds of musical traditions and genres, with the result that the album starts out by fooling you into thinking it's Native American, confuses you with Celtic tones, and wanders through heavily jazz-influenced territories while stirring up a damn fine time with a welter of Norwegian materials. It's quite an album, 77 minutes of wildly diverse ideas and influences, but worth every penny -- it's a lot of fun, and would certainly indicate that there's a lot of great music to be had from Norway.
