TV Series:

The Three Musketeers

  • Release Year: 1954

Plot

The first British TV adaptation of Alexandre Dumas' swashbuckling novel The Three Musketeers was a six-part miniseries, presented by the BBC from November 24 to December 29, 1954. Rewritten for television by Felix Felton and Susan Ashman, the series featured future Dr. Who villain Roger Delgado as the heroic D'Artagnan. This version of The Three Musketeers was presented live, and thus could not be internationally syndicated in the same manner as the like-vintage filmed version of the same property, produced in Italy in 1952. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
