Biography

Impossibly rare -- depriving listeners of an underground classic -- is the Trolls' pairing of "Walkin' Shoes" b/w "How Do You Expect Me to Trust You?" (Peatlore 23267, 1966). "Shoes," a harmonica-laced shuffle, features a hypnotic beat and compelling vocal (half sneer, half world-weary sigh), while "Trust" wraps that mystic voice in robes of rainy-day reflection. Both tunes sprang from the pen of Jim McPherson. The Trolls comprised either a power trio or quartet -- the group's actual lineup seems lost in the mists of time. McPherson later became part of Stained Glass. ~ Stansted Montfichet, All Music Guide
