Biography

After parting ways with the 1-4-5s, guitarist/ vocalist Sifu Dean got together with Junior Varsity drummer Sifu Matt and bassist Sifu Randy to form The Wontons in 1998. With their self-described sound of "all-you-can-eat rock 'n' roll," their added romp of 50s influenced garage and 77' snot-punk debuted on their first single "Let's Wok." Released in 1999 on Germany's Screaming Apple Records, The Wontons continued their gimmick of sloppy 60's rock and kung-fu uniforms with the EP Extra Spicy that same year. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide
