Following a tornado warning, an inmate escapes from a maximum-security prison, leaving behind the mutilated body of the warden. Inasmuch as the escape was impossible to have pulled off, Mulder and Scully are called in to investigate. The agents' unearthing of a hideous secret is all but inevitable. Lamont Johnson, who directed several classic Twilight Zone episodes, guest stars.
