Thomas Knoll is an American software engineer, who was raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan and best known (with his brother John Knoll) for initiating the development of Photoshop. He was the lead developer until version CS4 (11). His current contributions focus on the Camera Raw plug-in.
Knoll's wife Ruth (née Summers) is the founder of Summers-Knoll School, an independent elementary school in Ann Arbor which follows the general principles of progressive education.
