Lawrence Thompson

Lawrance Thompson was the official biographer of Robert Frost. His publications on Frost include Fire and Ice: The Poetry of Robert Frost, Selected Letters of Robert Frost, and the two biographical volumes Robert Frost: The Early Years and Robert Frost: Years of Triumph. The second volume won the Pulitzer Prize for Biography in 1971. The final volume of the biography, Robert Frost: The Later Years, was completed after Thompson's death by a colleague. Thompson was a professor of English at Princeton University.

1897–1970, English surgeon, writer, and naturalist, educated at Trinity College, Cambridge. Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, he wrote Eric and Joan (1960), an account of the happy marriage and early deaths of his sister and brother-in-law.
