History
Thrive was founded by electronic music pioneer Ricardo Vinas as a joint venture with Sire/Warner Bros. Records, a label which was owned by legendary A&R man Seymour Stein. In 1998, the record label was already growing into a huge success after the release of the soundtrack to Darren Aronofsky's award-winning independent film π and DJ mix series Global Underground. This allowed Thrive's roster to quickly allow the most up and coming artists in the electronic music world to sign to the label. Thrive has also released soundtracks for movies such as Memento, Requiem for a Dream, Swordfish, Confidence and many more.
Thrive has dabbled in alternative rock promotion as well, after signing Foo Fighters' drummer Taylor Hawkins and his solo band "The Coattail Riders". The following year, the label received its first two Grammy nominations from electronic music duo Deep Dish.
