Thwack!!. Baseball season opens tonight with the Chicago White Sox, winners of last year's World Series, facing the Cleveland Indians. The game will be played in Chicago's U.S. Cellular Field. When the new park was built, the dirt in the park's infield was transported from the former stadium, Comiskey Park; the exploding scoreboard in center field is a replica of one designed by Bill Veeck for the old park (when the Sox hit a homer or win the game, fireworks go off and pinwheels light up).
