Actor, comedian, screenwriter Tim Conway was born on December 15, 1933, in Willoughby, OH. After graduating from Bowling Green State University, where he studied television and radio, and was a DJ on the campus radio station, he got a job as a writer for a TV station in Cleveland, OH. Before long he was also performing on a show called Ernie's Place. In 1961, comedienne Rose Marie arranged for Conway to audition for Steve Allen's show, on which he became a regular. A year later, Conway won the role of Ensign Parker, on the ABC primetime sitcom McHales Navy. He spent four years on the comedy show, and even took his role to the big screen, when they made the film version in 1964.

Over the next few years, Conway made a number of films and starred in two less-than-successful TV series. In 1975, Conway became a regular on The Carol Burnett Show. In the top-rated variety series, Conway did impersonations and improvisations, often leaving his castmates dissolved in laughter, while he maintained his straight face. The show brought Conway four Emmy awards, including one for writing. After a long dry spell, Conway won another Emmy for his guest appearance on the sitcom, Coach.

Conway made six films with fellow comedian Don Knotts, including The Apple Dumpling Gang, The Prize Fighter, and The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again. He also wrote the screenplays for several of his movies, including The Prize Fighter, The Billion Dollar Hobo, and The Longshot. He has recently starred in several video productions as Dorf, a comedic dwarf.

In 2008, Conway won the Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, for his portrayal of Bucky Bright in 30 Rock.
