The times may be a-changing, but Times Publishing still prints the "St. Petersburg Times," one of the most respected regional newspapers in the US. Founded in 1884, the "Times" has a daily circulation of more than 310,000 in the Tampa Bay area and plays the role of archrival to "The Tampa Tribune," owned by Media General. Times Publishing also publishes Florida Trend, a magazine focused on business in the Sunshine State. The company additionally runs city-info Web site TampaBay.com. Times Publishing is owned by a holding company controlled by the Poynter Institute, a not-for-profit school in St. Petersburg that offers advanced training for professional journalists.

Times Publishing Company is based in St. Petersburg, Florida, and is owned by the Poynter Institute, a nonprofit journalism school in St. Petersburg. The current chairman and CEO of Times Publishing Company is Paul Tash, who also serves as editor of the St. Petersburg Times.
