Tinkitam is a small town in South Sikkim, India famous as being the birthplace of Indian football captain Baichung Bhutia. The town is located 45 minutes from the district headquarters Namchi. The town is being promoted as a tourist destination. Mount Kanchenjanga lies in the background of the town.

The town is virtually cut off from modern civilisation. There are no roads, electricity and cable television. The main economy of this hamlet are the cardamom plantations. Locals are mostly of Bhutia and Nepali ancestry. Nepali is the predominant language. The town enjoys a temperate climate.
