The District of Tirana (Albanian: Rrethi i Tiranës) is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania, part of Tirana County. It has a population of 521,000 (2004 estimate), and an area of 1,238 km². It is in the centre of the country, and its capital is Tirana. The districts consists of the following municipalities:
