Tiverton (2001 census population 743) is a community located in Ontario, Canada. It is near the shore of Lake Huron on Highway 21 between Port Elgin, Ontario and Kincardine, Ontario.
Tiverton is incorporated in the Municipality of Kincardine.
Economy
- Tiverton is near the site of the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station, the largest nuclear facility in North America in terms of output.
- Ontario's first commercial wind farm, called "Huron Wind" is also located near Tiverton in Inverhuron. The wind farm consists of 5 wind turbines.
- Tiverton is home to the Steelback Brewery which is located just north of Inverhuron, Ontario.
- Tiverton is located south of the Enbridge Wind Farm project being constructed between Tiverton and the Municipality's northern boundary. The project, when completed, will have over 100 wind turbines erected.
